Derived from the mind of songwriter Will Mitchell, the band Future Self began in 2008 in the wake of college chaos and new adulthood. Both Will and fellow songwriter/musician Joe Koubek moved to Atlanta to pursue careers in music. When not everything went as planned, the two found themselves with lots of time on their hands to write music for a record. After completing the Debt to a Muse EP in July of 2009, Joe had to move back to Florida. So, Will turned to his musical contemporaries : Ben Williams, Shim Gartner, Jaron Pearlman, and Kevin Goldstein to form the new Future Self. The new line-up has been touring Georgia for the last year, and is about to complete their second (yet to be named) EP. You can usually find them wandering the streets of Atlanta in search of good music and/or microbrews.
